Description
This is a bundle we're elated to share, and it's because you'll receive 7-bottles for $90! We've been tinkering with this idea for a while (again), and when it finally came together, we decided to name it for its optimism. We're calling this set On the Bright Side, short for "looking on the bright side."
In this bundle, you'll receive a delish assembly of vino that'll suit many an occasion and mood. Here's the breakdown: 3 white wines (Portugal, Italy, France), 1 rosé (Provence, France), and 3 red wines (Spain, Italy, France).
1. Caves Messias, Santola "Crab Wine" Vinho Verde NV is one of our yearly favorites from Portugal, and it's perfect for PNW year-round fare. The Vinho Branco (white wine) is a blend of Loureiro and Pederna. Vibrant, refreshing, zesty, and a little salty, it's a Vinho Verde that also finishes dry & lifted.
2. Further east & from Spain, the 2023 Vina Zorzal Garnacha Tinta will float anyone's boat who loves fresh, chillable, mineral red wines. 100% Garnacha (Grenache, if you're more familiar with French wines) from Navarra, this gorgeous red shows of notes of strawberry, pomegranate and minerals galore.
3. 2023 Produttori del Gavi Il Forte Gavi comes from Piedmont, in Italy's NW corner. This Gavi conjures aromas of acacia flowers, pear, green apple, lemon, brine, and honey. Lean and lithe flavors mirror the nose, while hints of underripe peach, grapefruit, and almond skin underscore this wine's vibrant, fresh, and river rock minerality that lingers on the finish.
4. 2022 Vigneti del Sole Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is an exceptional value we recommend enjoying year-round. Notes of strawberry and red plum meet notes of boysenberry, sour cherry, and oregano, with a hint of tobacco and sweet spice on the palate, giving this extremely chuggable little buddy a bit of depth and a savory undertone.
5. 2023 Chateau Le Roc Bordeaux Blanc offers a fresh and inviting experience with full, round flavors of citrus, lemon, and grapefruit, balanced by light mineral notes and a certain liveliness. The intense aromatics carry over beautifully, combining floral and fruity flavors with a subtle trace of acidity on the finish. A Bordeaux Blanc that pairs with anything, sometimes just a glass, and a late, sleepy afternoon with moody records and contemplation.
5. The 2022 J. Mourat Collection Red is a Loire Valley blend of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Gamay, and Negrette. Fresh and juicy, with lots of cherry and raspberry fruit flavors, underscored by blackcurrant, fun floral notes, and a subtle earthiness that reminds one of a maritime forest near cool, sandy beaches; its scent influenced by the sea. Silky tannins and those fresh fruit aromas and flavors will pop with a slight chill.
7. The Provence Rosé (2022 Chateau de Roquefort Corail, Cotes de Provence Rose) included in this package may be the 2022 vintage, but it's definitely in an excellent spot for enjoying! Here, a delicately spicy grapefruit nose is complemented by white peach, fennel, lychee, and slate on the palate. It is so clean and refreshing, and yes, it's dry and perfect for any evening when you're craving Provençal food or beachy feels.
