From: Graves, Bordeaux, France
Varietal: Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon du Périgord
Taste: This wine presents a serious, textured profile with zippy grapefruit acidity. The nose is fresh and vibrant, characterized by citrus fruits, candied orange, exotic fruits, dried apricots, and a hint of orange blossom, complemented by beeswax, white flowers, acacia, and a touch of fresh honey and sap. It is a dynamic and balanced orange wine on the palate, showcasing peach, lemon verbena, soft lemon, and orange flavors. The structure is fantastic, with a fleshy mouthfeel, a lot of freshness, and a light bitterness that balances the sweetness of the fruit.
Pairing: Pairing food with orange wine involves considering the wine's unique characteristics, such as its bold flavors, acidity, texture, and aromatic complexity. Orange wines have a strong, intense profile, making them a perfect match for equally robust dishes like roasted meats, rich stews, and spicy cuisine. The wine's zippy acidity can cut through rich, fatty foods, providing a refreshing contrast when paired with pork belly, duck confit, or creamy cheeses like Brie or Camembert. The floral and citrus notes of orange wine can be enhanced by dishes with similar aromatic profiles, such as those with citrus dressings, herbal sauces, or Middle Eastern spices like saffron and cardamom.

About: Anne Buiatti, an agricultural engineer turned talented vigneron, has been a pivotal figure in the Graves town of Saint-Morillon since 2019. Maison Advinam's estate is located in the heart of Bordeaux's Graves region, where she cultivates two hectares of vines. Additionally, she manages another two hectares in the Roussillon region, specifically in Calce. Together with her husband, Grégoire, they produce four distinct cuvées: La Donna, La Bouffonne, L’Allumée, and L’Allumée Orange.
Before settling in Bordeaux, Anne and Grégoire tended a magnificent plot of Syrah on shale in Roussillon, which they continue to own and integrate into some of their blends. Their approach to viticulture is deeply rooted in a hands-off philosophy, eschewing chemicals in favor of natural methods. They use composts, herbal teas, and silica to invigorate and revitalize the soils, earning Demeter certification for their biodynamic practices.
Anne is committed to fostering biodiversity within her vineyards. She has introduced ewes for pasture, beehives, orchards, and vegetable gardens, creating a harmonious ecosystem supporting her vines' health and vitality. All grapes are harvested by hand and vinified at the cellar in Saint-Morillon, adhering to natural winemaking principles.
