Taste & Critical Acclaim-“The nose is springtime in the English countryside, with fruit and flowers wafting over the aroma of cobblestones after a heavy rain. That mix of floral freshness and damp saltiness lingers onto the palate, while the tannins look on, before acid blows through like a strong wind. — 94 Points, Danielle Callegari, Wine Enthusiast

“This is ripe with dark cherries, mulberries and jam. Some hibiscus and red spices, too. Medium- to full-bodied with tight but finely polished tannins and a succulent, mellow dark-fruited character. Racy finish.” 93 Points, James Suckling

“Cherry, kirsch and wild thyme flavors course through this well-defined red. Earth and mineral notes emerge as this extends on the finish. Shows fine balance and length. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Mourvedre and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2028. 4,000 cases imported.” 90 Points, Wine Spectator

Pairing: The Mediterranean feel and flavor of this wine lend itself to the herbs of the region like Oregano and Thyme sprinkled over a Zucchini Tian, Panzanella Salad, rib steaks, bbq and even lamb with Mediterranean spices. If you fancy something heartier try it with Chickpea Soup with Farro and Porcini Mushrooms. This Mushroom-Farro Soup With Parmesan Broth by Julia Sherman partners perfectly with the Mongrana. Enjoy!

About: Sebastiano Cossia Castiglioni led Querciabella to be one of the first producers from more established wine districts of Tuscany that settled here at the end of the 1990s, in what is considered the beginning of the region’s golden age. Having always pushed boundaries and already pioneered organic farming in Chianti Classico, the team at Querciabella found an ideal environment to explore and research new winemaking practices in harmony with nature.

Querciabella is a Tuscan wine estate that makes wines in both the Chianti Classico zone and the Maremma Toscana. The winery has received high critical acclaim for its wines and regularly scores highly among critics and competitions. Indeed, Antonio Galloni of Vinous Media has said, "Querciabella stands head and shoulders above any other estate in Chianti Classico".
