Region: Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux, France
Varietal: Red Bordeaux Blend
Tasting Notes: Critic tasting note: "Ripe and rich, with some firm tannins, this wood-aged wine has a good future. It offers plenty of black fruits backed by the structure and with a solid, juicy fruitiness at the end. Drink from 2021. Roger Voss" - 91/100, Wine Enthusiast
Pairing: This merlot dominant blend pairs well with leaner meats, and hearty roast vegetables. One of my absolute favorites if drinking with a group and wanting to hang with guests, not in my kitchen, is pulled pork. These Pulled Pork Sandwiches by Melissa Clark supplied me with lots of succulent sloppy sandwiches to gobble with friends, and the Chateau Brisson Cotes de Bordeaux was so pleasing with this easy meal!
About: This family estate, founded in 1878, has been run by Paul and Lorette Valade for over thirty years. Originally located in the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation area on Chateau Brisson and Chateau Le Peyrat, the vineyard expanded to Saint-Emilion in 2007. Two years later, Cédric Valade joined his parents on the property at the end of his studies as agricultural engineer specializing in viticulture / oenology. On the property, everything is done to ensure impeccable quality. All the work is done by the Valade family.
The know-how passed down from generation to generation, added to long hours of work on the vineyard and a relentless rigor applied to each task, allow them to offer you remarkable wines in Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux.
