From: Mâcon, Burgundy, France
Varietal: Chardonnay
Tasting Notes: This charming Mâcon blanc is a fantastic throwback to a time when we used to see wines like this at this price point. Fresh, frank, cheerful, and tasty, this citrusy, white stone fruit & lemongrass Chardonnay brings back fond memories of first hearing people ask for “stainless steel Chardonnay” and discovering the Mâconnais for the first time.
Winemaker Notes: White wine with a pale golden color and green tints. The intense aromas of white flowers and dried fruit are typical of the grape variety: In the Mâcon area, we say that a good Mâcon wine “chardonnes” (shows a Chardonnay character). The wine is fresh and lively on entry to the palate, and then show s a sensation of softness and roundness.
Pairing: An afternoon lunch? Happy hour? As an aperitif? Yes, yes, and yes. This quaffer will pair with brunch, lunch, hors d’oeuvres, picnic fare, seafood, and light poultry dishes. Brunch or weekend lunch options include frittatas, quiche, and savory tarts. Other fantastic ideas include serving this alongside basil-butter pasta, garlicky shrimp or fish tacos, avocado or California rolls or handrolls, grilled chicken Caesar salads, a chopped salad with chickpeas, feta, and avocado, or a salad that features savory and citrusy elements; check out the recipe below for a great example.

About. Founded in 1929, Les Vignerons de Mancey, is set in the heart of lovely countryside, a few kilometres from Tournus and the Saône River. The winery's "terroir" sits on the open, rolling landscape of the Mâconnais hills, populated with vineyards, meadows, and woods. Les Vignerons de Mancey currently groups together the production of some 80 wine growers, with 140 hectares of vineyards spread over 8 communes in the Mancey area. The winery vinifies all the Burgundy grape varieties - Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Aligoté and Gamay, which thrive on the terroirs of the Mâconnais region.
