From: Columbia Valley, WA
Varietals: Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot
Taste: "The 2020 Red Blend is a fantastic entry-level red blend by one of Washington’s great young winemakers, Will Carmada. Mocha, anise, baking spices and suggestions of tar all come together brilliantly. Firm tannins and good tension meld everything together very well. Enjoy this beautiful wine over the next seven years.”

Pairing: Pair this as you would a Right-Bank Bordeaux, anything from beef pot pie, beef stew, braises (see below for a braised beef short rib pairing), pot roast, duck, mushroom, lentil, kale, and hard cheeses. Burgers of all kinds work magically here too- so whether you love beef or portobello, it’s an easy win on a weekday night. Tacos, gyros, and korean bbq are also delicious alongside this charming red.

Andrew Will's Involuntary Commitment is one of the best WA values around, and we highly recommend trying it if you haven't yet!
Involuntary Commitment is a new project in Washington State that is “committed” to producing premium wine from top Vineyards from the Columbia Valley. The idea behind this new project was the forecast of a larger than expected harvest. With a combination of great weather, vine maturity and timing we created a wine that shows all the nuances of premier Washington State grapes that will drink wonderfully right out of the bottle. The wines are fermented in stainless steel tanks with all native yeasts and are aged in 100% neutral French oak barrels.
In the inaugural vintage we get a red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot showing balance, full flavor and an ability to be opened and enjoyed with your weekday dinner now or on that special occasion down the line.
We believe that with so much such great fruit coming out of our vineyards it would be shame not to spread the wealth. This medium body wine exhibits a dark garnet color with a bouquet of dark fruit, herbs, earth and hints of tobacco. On the palate, flavors of cherry, red currants and spices shine through. This wine is fresh, youthful and ready to drink, though will cellar nicely through the next 5 years. - Winery
