From: Rioja, Spain
Blend: 85% Tempranillo, 15% Garnacha
While the 2013 vintage was declared ‘good’ there were a host of issues during this challenging growing season. The average vine age for this wine is 10-20 years as this is a blend of 85% Tempranillo and 15% Garnacha. The 2013 ‘Crianza’ by Carlos Serres opens with a bright bouquet of red cherry, red raspberry, thyme and hints of wild blackberry. The texture is lovely as is the red fruit flavors and suggestions of pipe tobacco. The long finish impresses. (Best 2017-2022) - July, 2017 (OB)
