From: Oregon, USA
Varietal: Gamay Noir
Tasting Notes: This wine represents a PNW take on early release Gamay wines; it has ripe, juicy red cherry and raspberry tones alongside just enough herbal garrigue and savory black pepper qualities to satisfy the boldest of Gamay lovers. Please serve this slightly chilled, around 55 F.
Pairing: Pairing: As a grape varietal, Gamay tends to produce wines that are more black-fruited, fuller bodied & easier to consume in its youth than its cousin, Pinot Noir (tons of exceptions to this!). It’s friendliness & food-ready nature are no exception here & this wine can be served next to just about anything, a broad range of delicate to bold flavors included. As an example, our recipe recommendation today is for South Indian Eggplant Curry, originally from Roopa Kalyanaraman & adapted by Mark Bittman. Enjoy!
