From: Alba, Piemont, Italy
Varietal: Nebbiolo
Taste: This Nebbiolo d'Alba has a luminous, light red color. It has an elegant bouquet of ripe cherry, black currant, dry rose petals, and a hint of mint. Sweet red cherries, roses, and spices create a juicy wine with plenty of mid-palate fruit and lip-smacking acidity. Youthful, delicious, and extremely friendly, this will surely become a new favorite for Nebbiolo lovers looking for an affordable but high-quality Nebbiolo d’Alba.
Pairing: With its red fruit and spice profile, this charming wine will pair well with everything from mushroom tarts to mushroom risotto or gnocchi and casual fare that includes picnic favorites. Some casual ideas include ham or turkey (or club) sandwiches, empanadas or samosas, popcorn chicken or fried thighs, and thin-crust pizzas. On that note, we’re sharing a party-ready weeknight or weekend pairing for Slow Cooker Pork Tacos with Hoisin and Ginger by Sam Sifton below.
Slow Cooker Pork Tacos With Hoisin and Ginger

About. Many thanks to importer, Skurnik Wines for the following information. The concept is simple, real wines made from some of Italy’s most interesting and extraordinary local grape varieties. These wines remain faithful to the philosophy that Giorgio Rivetti (of La Spinetta) embraces for all of his wines — quality over quantity, always and without exceptions. The wines are personally selected by Giorgio and the producers are small, family-owned vineyards with an expression of genuine character and terroir. This combination ensures that the wines convey their own identity and sense of place, using the same principles in the vineyards and cellars as all Indigenous Selections’ producers do: no chemicals, no herbicides, no pesticides.
