From: Columbia Valley, WA (Horse Heaven Hills, Red Mountain, Yakima Valley)
Blend: 45% Mourvedre | 30% Syrah | 14% Grenache | 9% Carignan | 2% Cinsault
Taste: Long inspired by Southern Rhone Valley wines, this is our answer to a Washington version of a Côtes du Rhône Villages wine. A blend of classic southern French varieties that are unique and expressive, yet each contributes to creating a harmonious whole. This remarkable wine displays an enticing, brilliant ruby color. It delivers flavors of black raspberry, wild currant, and savory notes, followed by aromas of late summer berries, baking spices, and hints of licorice. The juicy midpalate, bright acidity, and rich tannins provide a decadent, versatile wine compatible with many foods and occasions.
Pairing: This extremely versatile red wine is as successful next to grilled pork chops, braises, or roasts as it is when paired with BBQ, roasted turkey or chicken and mashed pots with gravy, spaghetti and meatballs, gyros, taco takeout, burgers made from beef/mushroom/bean/turkey/veggie, and everything in between!
