From: Tuscany, Italy
Varietals: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc
Tasting Notes: Upon pouring, the 2019 Tenuta Sette Cieli NOi4 captivates the senses with its intense ruby-red hue. The nose is greeted by a symphony of black cherries, red currants, and plums harmonized with underlying notes of fresh herbs, tobacco, and spice. The French oak adds a layer of complexity, introducing delicate hints of vanilla and toasted oak.
As you take your first sip, the wine envelops the palate with a velvety richness. The tannins are well-structured yet supple, allowing the fruit to shine while lending an elegant backbone to the wine. The vibrant acidity balances the wine's intensity and leads to a long, satisfying finish that leaves an impression of dark fruit, spice, and earthy notes.
This wine, with its full-bodied character and intricate layering of flavors, is an exquisite representation of the Bolgheri terroir. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Malbec works in harmony to create a powerful and graceful wine.
Pairing: The NOi4 is incredibly versatile when it comes to food pairings. Its full-bodied nature and balance of fruit, tannin, and acidity make it an ideal match for hearty dishes.
Some classic pairings include:
Grilled or roasted red meats such as steak or lamb (check out the recipe below!). Game meats such as venison or wild boar.
Rich pasta dishes with meat-based sauces.

About. The Tenuta Sette Cieli, aptly named "Estate of Seven Skies" and renowned for its mesmerizing panoramas, is suspended between the serenity of the azure heavens and the untamed expanse of the Mediterranean Sea. A wine enthusiast's dream, this estate is nestled atop a hill, elevated 1,300 feet above the sea, and owes its inspiring scenery to the exceptional vision of the Ratti family.
From a Wild Dream to a Wine-Lover's Haven
In 1994, the Ratti family had the prescience to invest in a vast, wild terrain of more than 170 acres near the Tuscan village of Monteverdi Marittimo, perched between Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci. A vista overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, this unyielding land, once known for horseback riding and wild boar hunting, seemed a formidable, albeit promising, canvas for their dreams of winemaking.
Their faith in the site's potential was further reaffirmed when two prestigious regional wineries expressed interest in leasing parts of the estate. The Ratti family had found a terroir worth cherishing, and they took their first step in the winemaking journey by planting vineyards in the year 2000. Fast forward to the present day, and you'll find 17 acres of high-density vineyards thriving with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Malbec.
NOi4: A Wine Celebrating the Power of Unity
Taking its name from an Italian phrase translating to "the four of us," NOi4 embodies the Ratti family's commitment to unity and shared purpose. The wine's name not only represents the four varieties of grapes used in the blend, but it is also an ode to the team of four that conceived it. And as much as it is a testament to teamwork, NOi4 carries the philosophy of shared pleasure, inviting the idea of enjoying the wine among four people.
