On just 2.5 hectares of the very best St.Émilion location in the enchanted hamlet of St. Etienne de Lisse, Jean François Meynard realized his dream of creating the perfect Grand Cru. 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc from 40-year-old, low-yielding vines, carefully aged in new and multi-layered barriques, result in a wine that lets you completely immerse yourself in a special pleasure experience even when you smell it. Dark berries, forest floor, cardamom and a hint of cinnamon and vanilla seduce the nose. This continues on the palate with silky, exceptionally fine tannins and a very intense variety of flavors. The end is enormously long with an extremely elegant, subtly dabbed minerality.
