The Grasso family owns a small 0.3ha piece of the revered Pora cru. Situated west of the village and southwest facing, this site consistently produces some of their highest quality Nebbiolo. Their plot was planted in 1948, but the family first vinified this separately only in 2004. Due to it’s concentration, this spends 36 months in third fill barriques, followed by 10 months resting. This means it is always released a year after the other wines, and has exceptional aging potential up to 30yrs. A great match for braised and baked red meats and game, and mature cheeses. Also impresses with dark chocolate when mature. As with all their wines, the Grasso family uses no pesticides, herbicides or additives in the production.
