From: Castilla y Leon, Spain
Varietal: Tempranillo
Taste: "Intense cherry red. Accented aromas of black and red berries with roasted coffee notes and spicy nuance from barrel aging. Fresh and powerful on the palate, well structured, with good aging potential in the bottle. Elegant nose with hints of liquorice and black fruits, topped with subtle notes of vanilla and coffee."
Pairing: Tempranillo, a versatile and savory wine, offers an excellent pairing with various meats, particularly lamb and pork (check out the recipe below!). The herb-infused flavors of dishes like roasted or grilled lamb, lamb chops, and lamb burgers harmonize beautifully with Tempranillo's inherent savory notes. Herbs such as rosemary, thyme, and oregano, often used in lamb preparations, enhance the wine's complexity. Tempranillo's aged aroma is a delightful complement to pork dishes, including chorizo, Jamón Iberico, sausages, and pork chops. Its robust character, especially in aged forms like Reserva or Gran Reserva, or the Portuguese Tinta Roriz variant, makes it an ideal match for grilled, smokey meats, BBQ dishes, and burgers, elevating these flavors to a new level of enjoyment.
Inside-Out Lamb Persillade

About the winery, in their words. “We are a family winery that produces quality wines in a traditional way, taking care of every part of the process to achieve the best result. We make wines that leave their mark. Our experience in the wine sector working for other wineries and our passion for a job well done made us make the decision to start our own dream. In 2015 Lar de Maía was born. We were very interested in making wines with personality, from the inside of the bottle, the most important part, to the outside. This is the first thing the consumer sees before making the decision to buy the bottle. Our philosophy is to make natural wines, without additives, with character so that when you try them you know that things made well are always the best.”
