Summer of Champagne! Wednesday Evening from 5-7 pm.

We will be pouring both NV Pierre Gimmonet Brut Cuis 1er Cru + NV A. Margaine Brut Rosé.

NV Pierre Gimmonet Brut Cuis 1er Cru $50.85: From the Côte de Blancs, 100% Chardonnay, and made from 1er Cru fruit in Cuis. The house is renowned for having a high percentage of old vines in their properties, most others in the area have very young vineyards. This particular cuvée is expressive, cool and mineral. A classy Champagne. Truly perfect for this weather we've been having lately.

NV A. Margaine Brut Rosé $59.75: A cépage of 72% Chardonnay and 28% Pinot Noir. A. Margaine's property in the Montagne de Reims is an oddity. Most of Montagne de Reims is planted to Pinot Noir, with the exception of Villers-Marmery; an oasis of Chardonnay plantings. Their almost Blanc de Blancs are coveted and gorgeous.

To sum it up, Terry Theise really hit the nail on the head with this review. "If you love Margaine Rosé this will bliss you out; it has all the swoony dewy aroma but it’s even deeper into red than usual. You’ll need a very strong will to resist drinking this whole bottle by yourself. Spicy, with a gush of the prettiest fruit and a cold splash of the loveliest chalk; stretching into a torn silk scarf of chalk. Maybe the best-ever rendition of this classic." —Terry Theise
An Evening with Mari. This Friday Evening from 6 pm to 8 pm!

Mari Womack will be gracing us with her presence this Friday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm. As always, the tasting is complimentary & the store will be open until 9 pm!

A bit about Mari Womack:

Mari began her love affair with wine through a career in restaurants. After volunteering with Baer during harvests and becoming a part of the Woodinville winemaking community, she first began making wine with Darby Winery. After four years of winemaking experience with Darby, Mari launched her very own solo project: Damsel Cellars.

The wines we'll be tasting:

2016 Damsel Cellars Chardonnay $18.75Varietal: 100% Chardonnay

Vineyards: Soaring Eagle Vineyard, Wahluke Slope AVA

The lightly-oaked, fruit-focused Chardonnay has bright notes of lemon, melon and a crisp acidity that makes it perfect for sipping on warm summer days.

2016 Damsel Cellars Red Blend $18.95

Varietals: 75% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Syrah

Vineyards: Soaring Eagle - Wahluke Slope AVA, Boushey Vineyard - Yakima Valley AVA

The perfect wine for any day of the week - A peppery perfume introduces raspberry and black cherry with notes of dried herbs and a hint of spice.

2013 Damsel Cellars Syrah $30.85

Varietal: 100% Syrah

Vineyards: Stillwater Creek Vineyard

Nuanced aromas of sweet smoke and pepper, this wine is framed by firm blackberry, plum and a subtle hint of cured meats. Perfectly paired with herb-encrusted lamb, soft blue cheeses and slow-roasted pork shoulder.

2013 Damsel Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon $40.75

Varietal: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon

Vineyards: Shaw Vineyard - Red Mountain AVA, Boushey Vineyard - Yakima Valley AVA

Traditional character with flavors of ripe black fruit and aromatic toasted spice. Sophisticated earthy, herby notes and understated anise. Full-bodied, balanced and brimming with classic Red Mountain tannins. Smooth and drinkable now, but will be even better with some short-term cellaring over the next 5 years.
